Bare Walls Virtual Gallery Exhibition
A one week pop-up group exhibition hosted by the wonderful Canadian virtual gallery, ARTWRK. Presenting four diverse artists from North America, this show is stunning and something that I am proud to be a part of.
Enjoy the show here until February 3, 2022:
Soul of the Rockies
“Soul of the Rockies” features a series of abstract landscape paintings focusing on my time exploring and meditating within the Rocky Mountains. The paintings have been created on unique surfaces for different reasons; the wood panels suggest a connection the natural elements of the outdoors and the plexiglass suggest a looking glass into my meditations.
Organized by the RBC Emerging Visual Artists Program
Originally meant for June 8, 2020, the exhibition has been postponed until further notice due to COVID-19. We anticipate the new exhibition will be May 1 – July 4, 2021, but there could be additional postponement due to the pandemic. Please check back for further updates closer to the event.
Potential Reception Night: Friday, June 18, 2021
Location: Arts Commons, Calgary
Intersection of Play
Nicole is honoured to have received a grant from the City of Calgary as part of the Community-Initiated Public Art Microprojects. This community-involved painting will take place at the intersection of 42 Ave SW and 20 St SW (across the street from My Favourite Ice Cream Shoppe) on Saturday, October 10th from 12-2pm and 4-5pm. Nicole will be painting on the electrical box and big cement block on the edge of the park (see reference photo below) and is inviting all the kids of the neighbourhood to help her by making their mark on their community! Kids of any age are welcome to participate!
Covid social distancing and cleanliness measures will be in effect for the safety of everyone participating.
If there is rain (or snow!) on October 10th, the painting event will be postponed to the following Saturday, October 17th, at the same times.

My featured painting: Summer Fires
The Rocky Mountains are a place of health, grounding and connection to the land. For many, the Rocky Mountains are home. When I hike the mountains in the summer I feel the vibrancy and nourishment of the environment. But in summer 2017 many of my hikes were cancelled due to forest fire evacuations and air quality warnings. It was terrifying to watch helplessly as wildfires seared so much of the land. My wish is to inspire awareness of the increasing danger of forest fires due to global warming so that generations after mine can still enjoy these magnificent mountains.
Organized by Alberta Society of Artists
Location: AGA (Art Gallery of Alberta)
**This show was a travelling exhibition and was also exhibited in Calgary at the Central Library and in Drumheller at the West GM Gallery.
Large Works - Group Show
Two of my large paintings (Elevate and Location Shared) will be exhibited in a group show titled “LARGE Works” along side many other talented artists. Celebrating works that are usually too big for conventional gallery spaces, this exhibition will be incredible!
Organized by the Alberta Society of Artists.
Opening Night: April 4th, 5-9pm
Location: Artpoint Gallery
